war brought in federes (they helped during Aug 10) and made active citizens part of NG
Middle ground pre-war= plain won Oct 1791 election vs after champ de mars jacobin dominated

King?

A

He vetoed federe camp which would house 20k men- trying to sabatoge war effort and plan a coup? (federes were there to prevent military coup in paris)
Replaced ministes with more persaudable Feuillants- again they were anti- war so he seems to be hindering war effort
Refused the disbanding of his guard
His guard appeared to celebrate military set backs (eg retreat of troups in April in Lille and killing of officers)
Vetos
Flight to Varenne
Armoire de Fer
380 voted for his death

La Patrie en Danger- 10 July= emergency state
CCotC and stuff put louis in tricky situation

A

didnt want to get rid of the king
Had inspired confidence in electorate pre-war to support consittutional monarchy: Oct 1791- Plain won vs post- Champ de Mars Jacobin won
