What was Churchill’s policy?
‘Lets win the war first’
What was the problem with Churchill’s domestic policy?
He had none. He was focused on internationalism.
What was the problem with the conservative party?
They were divided.
Pro-reform and Anti-reform.
They were not associated with welfare reform which was a priority for the people and the Labour party.
What was the Tory Reform Group?
A group of conservatives who were in favour of government intervention and welfare reform. Supported the Beveridge Report
What was Churchill’s opinion of the Beveridge Report?
He was suspicious of it. He believed it would result in too much state intervention and higher taxation
What was a problem with Churchill’s policy?
The people believed he was not separating himself between being a War PM and a peacetime PM
