A

Steady Red in Air: Give way to other AS and continue circling.

Steady Red on Ground: Stop

Flashing Red in Air: Total refusal of permission to land.

Flashing red on ground: Move clear of the landing area.

Steady Green in Air: You may land.

Steady Green on Ground: You make take off.

Flashing White in Air: Land at this airfield after receiving a steady green.

Flashing White on Ground: Return to starting point.

How is the movement area divided?

A

Manoeuvring area: That part of an aerodrome to be used to the take off, landing and taxying, excluding aprons.

Apron: A defined area, intended to accommodate AS for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers or cargo, fuelling, parking or maintenance.

A
  1. Alert and dispatch Aerodrome rescue and firefighting services.
  2. Sequence VFR circuit traffic and movements of AS’s on manoeuvring area.
  3. Steichen mixed arrival and departure of visual and instrument traffic.
  4. Notify changes to Aerodrome crash category.
  5. Provide an alerting service.
  6. Monitor wind speed and direction.
  7. Notify Aerodrome unserviceabilty or work in progress.
  8. Warn AS of other AS conducting ground runs.
  9. Warn of significant changes in met conditions.

  1. Determine landing order, spacing and distance from touchdown of AS.
  2. Provide information on positions of AS within circuit.
  3. Monitor position of noticed traffic transit.
  4. Pass TI if risk of collusion exists.
