The price of stocks suddenly dropped, losing investors more than 5 billion dollars in just hours.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, his plan was called the New Deal.
Why did Americans like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton demand that women be given the right to vote? Why did other Americans disagree with them?
They believed that depriving women the right to vote is an act of tyranny that should be resisted. People disagreed because they believed that it would ruin family relations and take time from home duties.
What was Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s program to deal with the Great Depression called? How would this program do this? What powers should Congress give the president to accomplish this task? What did he say to those who thought his program was unconstitutional?

- FDR said it’s always possible to meet extraordinary needs because the Constitution is so simple. You can change the emphasis or the arrangement without losing the main form.
In what ways was Eleanor Roosevelt different from previous First Ladies?
She was an ardent supporter of her husband’s programs. Unlike other First Ladies she was the first to take a public role in supporting her husband’s policies. Unlike other First Ladies she could easily converse with the public and even had press conferences with reporters.
How did Communism differ from Fascism? How was Nazism different from Fascism?
Communism was ruled by a strict government while Fascism was ruled by a dictator. Communism had no societal classes while Fascism had many. Communism was internationalism while Fascism believed that national interests were of precedence. Nazism was a German brand of fascism with its own ideology of the perfect race, a race of people with blonde hair and blue eyes. Nazism believed only people with these features deserved the right to live and they needed to make space for this perfect race.

The alliance between Germany and Italy was called the Non-Aggression Pact. It was called the Axis Powers when Japan entered into it.

What did Japan do on the “Day of Infamy,” December 7, 1941? What was the United States’ response?
Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. In response the U.S declares war on Japan and her Allies.
What was the Dust Bowl? When and where did it occur, and what caused it? What happened to the people who lived in the affected areas?
The Dust Bowl was caused by miscare of soil and drought, it caused dust to be blown everywhere, burying houses and making the air almost unbreathable. Started in the 1930s in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, and part of Colorado. Most people living in affected areas moved to California, due to fear of being trapped in their homes due to the dust and the unbreathable conditions.
Why did Roosevelt think programs like the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Works Project Administration were better than just giving handouts to people in need?
Because it allowed for more help and assistance to be brought to these people, it also made sure they were truly trying to find jobs themselves.
