Q

What was Wundt’s aim, procedure and findings

A

Aim: To understand the structure of the human mind and how it functions
Procedure:
- Reaction time = Wundt presented participants with stimuli and measured how quickly they pressed a button in response. He used a highly precise measuring device to record reaction times to the millisecond.
- Introspection = Participants were trained to objectively analyze their own conscious experiences, reporting details about their thoughts, feelings, and sensations when presented with stimuli.
Findings: He identified basic elements of consciousness, and the study of how these elements combine to create conscious experiences. He also focused on the structure of the mind and how it processes information, leading to the development of structuralism as a psychological approach.
