incubation 2 weeks/months

retrograde from peripheral nerves = acute encephalitis

Tx: immediate prophylaxis - human rabies immunoglobulin x4 x14 days

Lyme Borrelios

A

Borrelia burgdorferi

spirochaete in wild deer

PC:

  • cardiac disorders: pericarditis, cardiomegaly, heart block
  • erythema migrains
  • acrodermatitis chronica artroficans (ACA) extensor surfaces bluish red discolouration
  • lymphocytoma: blue solitary painless nodules
  • neuroborreliosis: CNVII palsy

tests: Serology, EM

Tx: doxycycline
