This printable periodic table is a great (and super pretty) reference tool you can use anytime, anywhere! Download, print, and put it up above your study desk at home; paste it into your chemistry notebook or binder; or use it as a bookmark for your textbook. You can even have it printed on posterboard—and laminated—for your study or classroom!

Need a little help downloading this high-res, printable periodic table? Here are some instructions:

  • Right-click the image and select 'open in new tab'
  • Click 'file' at the top of your desktop
  • Select 'print' from the drop-down menu
  • Select 'landscape' orientation, choose your paper size, and hit 'print'
  • Make sure you select 'color' (and not black-and-white or grayscale) when printing so that you capture the color-coded elemental groups.

If you don't have a printer and/or want to print on poster-sized paper, download and save the image to a portable hard drive (like a USB stick) and take it down to your local office supplies, stationers, or print shop.

You can also save it to an email, which you then send to the print store assistant when you're standing with them:

  • Right-click the image and select 'save image to downloads'
  • Open your email account
  • Select 'compose' to start a new message
  • Attach the image file to the email or drag-and-drop it from your download folders
  • Save to drafts (it should automatically do this anyway)

Then, when you're at the print shop, ask the assistant for an email address you can send your email with the image attachment to. This will deliver the printable periodic table to the assistant who can then print it out exactly to your specifications.

Failing all of the above, just ask the print store assistant to Google "Brainscape printable periodic table" and you should find this very page you're now on! They'll know what to do from there.

Now, if you're after even more super effective learning tools for chemistry, you'll find the following a total game-changer...

Flashcards for quickly learning and memorizing the periodic table

Brainscape periodic table flashcards

If it's your goal to learn your way around the periodic table—or even commit its 118 elements to memory—the most efficient way to do that is with Brainscape's digital Periodic Table flashcards.

Because we have such an enormous base of science students using our app to learn their subjects more efficiently, we decided to curate a collection of flashcards that empower you to memorize the periodic table as quickly and painlessly as humanly possible.

Within this collection, each element is captured as an individual flashcard, testing your ability to translate the chemical symbol into the element (Ti Titanium) and the element into the chemical symbol (Titanium Ti).

We also created decks of flashcards that test you on each element’s:

  • Atomic number
  • Atomic mass
  • State (gas, liquid, or solid) under standard conditions
  • Melting and boiling points
  • Groups and period, and
  • All of the above in single flashcards for each element.

What’s great about breaking it down this way is that you can curate your own education depending on WHAT you’d like to memorize. For instance, if you’d just like to know the periodic table better, you could limit your memorization to just the names of the elements, their symbols, trends, and perhaps groups and periods. Or, if you want to go further, you could memorize their atomic numbers, masses, melting and boiling points, and more.

How much time you devote to memorizing the periodic table is entirely up to you. Whichever way you cut it though, Brainscape is the fastest way to do it!

(Do you even need to memorize the periodic table? Check out the linked Academy article!)

So, download our printable periodic table (above) for quick reference, add our Periodic Table flashcards to your dashboard in Brainscape—along with the rest of your science subjects—and make your learning journey in school or college much faster and easier!
