A
  1. Answer all parts of all requirements.
  2. Identify clearly which requirement is being attempted.
  3. Demonstrate/apply appropriate knowledge.
  4. Identify the key data and issues in scenarios.
  5. Make use of any qualitative and quantitative data provided in the scenario. Spend time deciding which additional calculations are most useful. Always present any supporting numerical data analysis in table format with appropriate headings.
  6. Prioritise issues in answers.
  7. Use systematic analysis, reasoning and judgement, in particular of cause and effect relationships.
  8. Balance the arguments not the conclusion.
  9. Conclude/recommend even when not specifically required to do so.

A
  1. Failing to practice questions using the exam software prior to attempting the Business Strategy and Technology exam.
  2. Ignoring quantitative data that is provided in the question and not including any data analysis in your answers where it is implicitly or explicitly required.
  3. Simply restating facts from the question without any development, often in the context of models, eg, SWOT, PESTEL, Five Forces.
