Describe how to make pure, dry samples of named soluble salts.
A
- Measure 20cm3 of acid into measuring cylinder and pour into beaker.
- Heat the acid gently using a bunsen burner.
- Add small quantities of insoluble substance in excess until reaction stops.
- Filter solution using filter paper and funnel to remove excess substance.
- Pour solution into evaporating basin.
- Gently evaporate solution using water bath until crystals start to form.
- Leave in a cool place for 24 hours.
- Gently pat crystals dry using filter paper.
