Legumes are a family of plants used for food. They include peanuts, soya, lupin, green beans, green peas, and fenugreek.

Dried seeds known as pulses are also part of the Legume family. These include chickpeas, lentils, kidney beans, and other dried beans.

A

Glutens are proteins that aneable wheat and other cereals to absorb water, stick together, and remain viscous and elastic.

Wheat, barley, and rye contain gluten, which may be present in breads, cookies, biscuits, pastas, semolina-based products, couscous, and some beers.

Dairy

A

Allergy to milk & milk products. This occurs when the immune system rejects animal milk and sees it as an invader to the body. While most dairy allergies are caused by cow’s milk, this can also be caused by goat’s milk, sheep’s milk, buffalo milk, etc.

Foods to avoid include milk, butter, cheese, cream, sour cream, yogurt, pudding, custard, ice cream, and ice milk.

Shellfish

A

Shellfish allergy is an abvormal response by the body’s immune system to proteins in certain marine animals. Marine animals in the shellfish category include crustaceans and mollusks such as; shrimp, crab, lobster, squid, oysters, scallops, and others.

Some people with shellfish allergy react to all shellfish, others react to only certain kinds. (i.e; It is possible to be allergic to shrimp, but have no reaction to lobster.)
