A

What features of trigger finger?

A
  • Enlargement of affected tendon
  • Usually distal to a fascial pulley over metacarpal neck
  • Nodule catches on & passes underneath pulley (clicking sensation)
  • Finger may lock in flexed position

Signs/symptoms of trigger finger?

A
  • Clicking sensation during movement
  • May lock in flexed position
  • May have to forcibly manipulate finger to regain extension

Treatment of trigger finger?

A

-Conservative= injection of steroid around tendon within the sheath
Surgery:
-Recurrent cases/persistent cases=
Incision of the pulley (A1) this doe snot affect function
