  • Can be asymptomatic
  • Arthritis
  • Pathologic fractures
  • Deformity
  • Pain
  • High output cardiac failure

Investigations for Paget’s disease?

A
  • Serum alkaline phosphatase is raised
  • Calcium & phosphorous normal
  • Radiograph shows the affected bone is enlarged, thickened cortices, coarse, and thickened trabeculae and mixed areas of lysis and sclerosis

  • Biphosphonates- inhibits osteoclasts

  • Joint replacement may be necessary
  • Pathological femoral fractures
