Q

Explain the method that measures event related potentials to a specific stimulus

A
  • Entire waveforms are used, the frequencies are not decomposed
  • Looking at peaks in waveform at different brain locations by measuring activity at specific time windows at the electrode of interest

Q

Describe the process of ERP

A
  1. Present stimulus
  2. Record EEG
    - Average traces after time locking to a specific stimulus

Q

How is activity coded in an ERP?

A

P = positive (wave moves down)
N = negative (wave moves up)
-Number following this represents approx when the peak occurred in relation to stimulus marker
