Q

What actions are taken to correct conditions associated with spurious trips of gaseous and liquid radwaste monitors (RE4830/4642) due to spiking or rising background levels?

A

K10 ACA for RE4830, not the AOP which will allow resetting process monitor for an instantaneous spike and recommencing release if in progress.

For RE-4642, if trip wasn’t caused by unplanned release then re-establish release.

Unplanned release defined as unintended discharge of a volume of liquid or airborne radioactivity to environment. If unplanned release occurs then direct chemistry to determine extent of release, implement EALs and reference ODCM.
