facility’s available for all planed work
office accommodation is proved for management of planed work
working environment including hangers is appropriate
secure storage facility’s for equipment ECT
what are the rues on temperature, dust, noise, lighting, environment conditions and working environment?
temperature must be maintained so tasks can be carried out without discomfort
dust must be kept to a minimum and should not be visible
lighting should allow for inspection and maintenance task in effective manner
noise should cause no distraction form any inspection task when noise is uncontrollable provide necessary equipment
when specific environmental conditions are required they are mentioned and they are identified in the maintenance data
working environment for line maintenance can be carried out with undue distraction task will be suspended in working environment is not satisfactory and will be resumed afterwards
what are the rules on storage facilities?
storage should be provided for components, equipment and tools and materials
storage must have segregation from any unserviceable tools, components and materials
condition in storage must comply with manufactures instructions to prevent deterioration and damage to stored items
access must be restricted to authorised personnel only
who is responsible for all maintenance activities for the organization and who appoints them?
the accountable manager that has corporate authority to ensure all maintenance can be financed and carried out and the organization in accordance with 2018/1139 must appoint them
what must the accountable manager do?
ensure all necessary resources are available to complete maintenance in accordance with annex 1 part M and annex Vb part ML
establish and promote safety policy
demonstrate basic understanding of this regulation
what must the person who has been nominated by the accountable manager have?
must have direct access to them, property informed on compliance and safety matters, must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge background and satisfactory experience related to aircraft / component maintenance
why should an organization have a maintenance resource plan?
to ensure it has enough appropriately qualified staff to plan perform monitor and supervise and inspect organizations activity’s
there must also be a plan for when there is less staff than needed
why must a organization establish and control the competency of the personnel involved in any maintenance, airworthiness reviews, safety management and compliance monitoring?
as it has to be in accordance with a procedure and to a standard with the CAA

base maintenance carried out in a location not part of the UK support staff may be qualified in accordance with the national aviation regulations
for line maintenance at locations outside the UK the certifying staff may be qualified subject to conditions in appendix IV
for repetitive pre flight airworthiness directive which specifically states the flight crew may carry out such airworthiness directive limited certification can be given by the organization
when aircraft is grounded away from base where there are no appropriate certifying staff the organization can send over an employee with the equivalent certification to carry out the maintenance
