What are the three ways we can please God?
- through prayer
- religious life

What are the four roles a priest has to do?
- be a leader of the Christian community within the parish
- be a man of faith and prayer
- to preach the gospel
- to celebrate the Mass and the sacraments and to serve God’s People
Why do Christians believe vocation is important?
- shows all Christians are called to a life of discipleship just as the Apostles were
- means that all Christians must do what God calls them to do if they want to achieve salvation. Vocation is a call from God and doing it is God’s will
- by following a vocation, Christians are not only doing what God wants them to do, they are bringing more people to their example
- by serving God through following a vocation a Christian will lead a holy life and work towards salvation
What does chastity mean?
-means that religious promise to live a single life and they give up sexual relationships, total dedication to God, the Church and the Gospel
What does obedience mean?
-means religious submit themselves to their superiors and the work they ask them to do in the belief that these people have been given their authority by God
What does poverty mean?
-means that religious promise to remain totally dependent on God for their material needs
How can Christians show their vocation through their work, job or career?
-by choosing a job where they care for people and show God’s love
How can a Christian show their vocation in the way they treat people?
-by loving them as your neighbour
In what part of their lives do Christians show their vocation?
-in every part of their life: at home, at work, when out with friends
Why do Christians follow Jesus’ command to love God and their neighbour?
-because it’s part of their vocation, what God called them to do
Why do Christians show vocation in daily life?
- because we believe that we have been called by God to serve Him
- leads towards salvation by strengthening our relationship and love for God
- the greatest commandment is to love God and love our neighbour, Christian vocation is the call to love God
- the call to be a Christian is about serving God in our lives and not just going to Mass on Sunday, this is why we show our vocations(call from God) in our daily lives
What is a priest?
-leads the mass and congregation
What is a deacon?
- what all priest have to be before they become priest
- some married men can become deacons, although they will not be able to move on to be priest
What is a bishop?
-in charge of a diocese and is in charge of the churches and priests within
How and why do some Christians show vocation by taking Holy Orders?
- men say they cannot ignore the calling from God to take Holy Orders because so persistent that they had to accept
- the Catechism states about Holy Orders that they can share in the mission that Christ entrusted in them
- young men feel they can serve the needs of people by helping them in their own parish
- through baptism priest initiates children into the Church, building God’s kingdom on Earth
