A
  • in childhood leukemia: appears as a radiolucent band at metaphysis, usually aout the knees, ankles, wrist
  • Progression may cause patchy lytic lesions, moth-eaten appearance, cortical erosion
  • Vertebral compression fractures
  • Mediastinal enlargement from lymph modes

A

neoplasms of the lymphoreticular system: lymph nodes, spleen, lymphoid tissues of parenchymal organs of GI, lung and skin

A

Hodgkins: 90% originate in lymph nodes

Non-hodgkins: most originate in parenchymal organns (GI tract, lung and skin), some originate outside nodes

- Other finings may include: ulcers, splenomegaly, prominence of lymph nodes, thickening and distortion or rugal folds

  • eroison, usually of upper lumbar and lower thoracic
  • Mottled pattern of destructon and sclerosis - appear as mets
  • Dense vertebral sclerosis in hogkins disease

  • enlargement with distortion, enlongation and compression of calyces
  • Nodules or masses may displace the kidney - may even oliterate one of the psoas margins CT/Us first, MRI pistron emission tomography.

A

CT, RT, possible hormone theraphy if neoplasm started in glandular tissue
-Bone marrow transplant may be required
