Larygotracheaobronchitis -resp disease
6month to 6 years, peak in autumn
sudden onset seal-like barking cough, stridor, hoarsness and resp distress -
+ coryzal, cyanosis, sx worse at night
result of viral - parainfluenza 1/3 (main)

can see bacterial superinfections after

can be mild (no stridor at rest)
Moderate (stridor at rest)
Severe (stridor at rest with agitation or lethargy)

Ix - clinical exam

Mx
Mild -steroids (dexa 0.15-0.6) and conservative treatment (O2 etc)
Moderate steroids + conservative mx +
nebulised adrenaline
Severe - steroids, support + nebulised adrenaline + supplemental O2
(intubate if resp failure)
