Q

‘The Munich Putsch of 1923 was a disaster for Hitler and the Nazi Party’ How far do you agree with the statement? thesis

A

-1923 putsch, taken inspiration from Mussolini’s march on Rome, may be seen as surface level failure. However, beneath the façade of failure and Nazi defeat was the long term tool that the putsch became elevating Hitler’s public popularity and arguably paving the way for the Nazi’s 1930s success.Ultimately, Hitler overcame the short term failure and capitalised on what should have been the end of the Nazi rise to power.

P2-hitler’s capitalisation on popularity

A

-Hitler utilised propaganda - landsberg prison - wrote mein kampf
→ capitalised on attention - evoked admiration for patriotism

-CA- 1928 election nazis only won 12 seats and party abnned until 1925 HOWEVER - the fact that nazis still existed with seats is influential - populairty escalated rapidly and this can be due to success of stressemans policies - when they failed people turned to hitler
