The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN)
A
Prevented employers from just shutting the door and walking away without worker benefit.
Requires 60 days notice of plant closing or mass layoffs. An employment loss of 50 or more people. Can pay 60 days of allowances if given no notice.
