Complexity - Intricate entanglement of physiologic and emotional states including family relationships and environmental factors. Ranges from complicated lifestyles to straightforward interactions

Participation in Decision Making - Accessibility, availability, and willingness by patient and family to understand the information provided, ranging from no participation to full participation
Vulnerability - Susceptibility to stressors that can endanger patient outcome. Ranges from fragile to fully recovering (Risk of Status Change)
Resiliency - Patients ability to bounce back from illness. Based on age, overall health, or medical conditions.
Resource Availability - Available support including relationships, financial stability, psychological care.
Predictability - Expectations of a certain course of actions
Stability - Ability to maintain steady equilibrium (Consider patients current status)
Intrinsic vs Extrinsic
Intrinsic - Patient specific factors (resiliency, stability, vulnerability, complexity, predictability)
Extrinsic - Directly influences patient care situation (resource availability, participation in decision making and care
