16
Q

Know examples of precipitation

A

Rain, snow, sleet and hail

17
Q

What is composting

A

Recycling plant materials

18
Q

What do scavengers do?

A

Feed on remains of dead animals

19
Q

What do carnivores eat?

A

Other animals

20
Q

What are abiotic and biotic factors?

A

Abiotic - Non living, Biotic - Living

21
Q

What makes up a population

A

All the members of one species in an area

22
Q

What is a community?

A

All the populations of animals living in an area

23
Q

What are predators?

A

Animals that hunt other animals

24
Q

What are consumers and what types of animals are consumers?

A

Animals that eat producers. Lizards, hawks, rabbits, lions etc.

25
Q

What are renewable and nonrenewable resources?

A

Renewable - Can be replaced, Nonrenewable cannot be replaced

26
Q

Why do we need to conserve both renewable and nonrenewable resources?

A

We need to conserve both because nonrenewable resources will eventually be used up and renewable resources take awhile to replace/grow back.

27
Q

When a farmer sprays chemicals to get rid of the insects on his farm, how does this affect other animals in the area?

A

This disrupts at least one and probably more than one food chain. Other insects that are eaten by the insects killed would be affected. Chemicals could pollute nearby water sources
