12 Flashcards
(12 cards)
describe the proximal interphalangeal joint
aka pastern joint
- hinge joint
- ligaments restrict movement mainly to Ext/Flex - but some lat movement is possible
- dorsal/palmar recess
describe the distal interphalangeal joint
aka coffin joint
- composite joint (ses. dist)
- mainly to Ext/Flex - but some lat movement is possible for uneven ground
- dorsal/palmar recess
name the 3 ligs of the pastern joint
1 - lig collat lat et med (obliquely)
2 - 2lig palmare axiale (close to midline then spread out dist/lat
3 - 2lig palmare abaxiale(same as axial but longer and shifted from midline)
scutum medium of the pastern joint
smooth surf for passage of DDF made by:
- axial ligs
- lig sesam rectum (prof/supf)
- palmar flexor surface of ph2
name the ligaments related to ph2-3 only
lig collat lat et med
name the two ligaments of the navicular bone
=dist SB
1 - lig ses dist impar (fan out from dist margin of the BS ->scutum distale for DDF)
2 - lig ses collat lat et med (prox surface of SB)
name the 6 ligaments of the cartilago ungularis(M/L)
1 - ligchondrocompedalia lat et med (prox surf)
2 - chondrocoronale lat et med (prox surf)
3 - chondroungularia collat lat et med (dist border)
4 - lig chondrosesam lat et med (to axial surf palm)
5 - lig chondroungularia cruciata(axial surf, covered by DDF)
6 - lig chondropulvinale(axial surface to torus)
retinaculum flexorium
- strong transverse fibers: retention mechanism
- reinforced by digital fascia
- fuse with prox SB’s. palmar ligs, collateral SB ligs and some places withflexor tendons
- bursa podotrochlearis (palmar ph3)
corresponding extensor retinaculum
retinaculum flexorium consist of
lig anulare palm (around flex tendons) fetlock plate (cart attached to ph1, unite its flex tendons) ligg. annularia diigiti: sheet forming "sock" around tendons
FL digital ext
m. ext dig comm
m. ext dig longus
m. ext abductor pollicis longus
(planum cutaneum - medial surf)
FL digital flex: long
SDF
DDF
mm. interflexorii
FL digital flex: 2 common short mm
on mc bones; act “several” digits together
- m. interossei mt-prox SB
- mm. lumbricales - not very distinct btw SDF and DDF
dont have special short mm -> only digit 3!
