These are bilateral agreements that the 2 countries negotiate to provide rights for airlines to offer Intl passenger and cargo services. It expands Intl passenger and cargo flights

Why is this in news ?

UAE is now keen to have this with India. Though we had an Air Service agreement with them , this doesn’t allow unlimited number of flights between the 2 countries

What is Air Service Agreement ?

India has this with 109 countries which covers aspects relating to the number of flights, seats, landing points and codeshare. But it doesnt allow unlimited number of flights

SO we do not have Open Sky agreement with any country ?

We have it with USA, Japan, Greece, Jamaica, Guyana, Czech republic, Finland, Spain and SriLanka
