Precautions

A
  1. Elderly Patients generally require Lower Dose
  2. Opiate Naive Pts should receive Lower Dose
  3. Significantly Smaller Dosing Required for hydromorphone than for morphine.

Dosage / Administration

A

Adult: 0.01mg/kg every 5-10min titrating to effect, MAX Dose of 2mg, IM or SIVP.
Elderly: 0.005mg/kg, MAX Dose of 1mg.
Peds: 0.01mg/kg IM or SIVP/IO Over 3min, MAX Dose 0.5mg. May repeat after 5-10min x 1.
