What do we need to take into account when wanting to develop a good survey?

A
  • our research goals should be clear and established
  • population and sampling (should be representative)
  • questionnaire design
  • review and testing (test design and review)
  • implementation and launch
  • data analysis and reporting

Why do we need to take into account our research goals?

A

only ask crucial, related questions to the construct (what we are analysing). Nice to haves will contain noise (and increase drop out rate)

What is a construct?

A

individual attributes we can break topic of interest into e.g. using something in some seat position or display type / position / angle

What is cognitive pretesting?

A

ensuring people are interpreting constructs as intended - do they understand the question
-> can be done with think alouds (explain how you see the question) with test participants
