2 was not popular with republicans who thought the poor should help themseves.
3 His great society did achieve a lot - see above and showed him to have good political skills

1968 national organisation of women called for government to ban sexual discrimination at work, guarentee maternity leave, provide equal education and allow abortion and contraception

A

1 change in law didnt mean a change in ideas
2 campaigne wasnt supported by all women - middle class women didnt need feminism
3 protests against institutions ignored (miss world and men only clubs)
4 most women only bothered about things that effected them eg pay
5 religious influences effected views eg abortion
