Condensate Storage and Transfer Flashcards

1
Q

when does the condensate STANDBY JOCKEY PUMP auto start?

A

after a 1.5 sec time delay under BOTH of the following conditions:
* Low Condensate Transfer Header Pressure (140#) and
* High Condensate Transfer Header Flow (50gpm)

Q

What amount is required in the CST for HPCI and RCIC and what are the auto swap levels associated with those systems?

A

Provide a minimum of 135,000 gallons in CST for HPCI and RCIC
1. HPCI auto transfer @ 68,000 gallons in CST
2. RCIC auto transfer @ 70,000 gallons in CST

11
Q

Describe the flow of water from the CST during refueling.

A

Transfers water to the reactor well, drier/sep pool, and cask pool, and returns the water to the CST during refuel.

13
Q

what are the important levels in the CST?

A

The CST has a design capacity of 500,000 gallons. The suction line for the jockey transfer and refueling water pumps terminates at a height equal to ~250,000 gallons. The hotwell makup and reject line terminates at a height equal to ~135,000 gallons. Thus, 135,000 gallons are reserved for HPCI and RCIC.
