What is SIADH

A

SIADH happens when your body makes excess amounts of antidiuretic hormone (ADH). SIADH causes your body to retain too much water and commonly leads to hyponatremia, which is low levels of sodium in your blood.

Drug of choice for GI bleed?

A

Sandostatin

Reduces secretions of fluids by the intestines and pancreas as well as reduces GI motility inhibits contraction of the gall bladder. It causes vasoconstriction in the blood vessels and reduces portal vessel pressure in bleeding varices
