Q

What are the macromolecule components used for

A
  1. Carbs- glucose= ATP to system to work
  2. Fat- fatty acids and glycerol= forming membranes and structure of the body
  3. Proteins- Amino acids= used to make other proteins

Q

How does the chemical digestion.

A
  1. Bite into a burger andthe salivary glands make amylase
  2. It goes down the esophagus into the stomach where protease pepsin enzyme is made and realeased to break down proteins
  3. Into the small intestine where fats are broken down by the pancrease releasing protease, lipase and amylase to the small intestine
  4. If a patient has a problem with their pancreas it will lead to fatty stool as the fats can be broken down
  5. Brush borders release amylase and protease. For lipases to be successful a slash of bile is needed.
