Penicillin G

A

Group A strep - strep throat, TSS, impetigo, nec fasc
Group B strep - infants and pregnant women
Group C strep - sore throat, bacteremia
GPR - listeria - meningitis in neonates
S.pneumo
Pasteurella multocida - rapid progressive cellulitis
AACEK group - endocarditis
Treponema pallidum - syphilis

Ampicillin/amoxicillin

A

Susceptible enterococcus and L. monocytogenes
Group A and B strep mouth anaerobes
P. multocida

Use ampicillin in neonates (due to listeria)
Klebsiella are not susceptible!!!

Piperacillin

A

Extended spectrum penicillin (cover non-b lactamase GNR)
Ampicillin/sulbactam for bite wounds
Pip-tazo for pseudomonas
