  • farmers who grow non-GMO may sell more crop having more improved quality of life OR sell less and have decreased quality of life
  • improved nutrition for consumers and therefore less demand on the health system
  • GM cheaper or more accessible = access to better nutrition
  • Consumers may not want to consume GM food leading to consumers not buying enough and farmers having lower quality of life

  • possible crossbreeding with non-GM crops leading to change in genome of the crops
  • potential lack of genetic variation with the GM crop meaning all GM plants could die if there is a change in selection pressure
  • consumers may not want to eat or purchased any GM products are these consumers are concerned it is not safe to eat
  • improved nutrition for consumers improves health outcomes for consumers
