calcium ions move into presynaptic neurone via facilitated diffussion
ca+ than diffuses down to post synaptic knob where it causes vesicles to fuse with presynaptic membrane
actylcholine is released and diffuses across synaptic cleft
recived on post synaptic neurone by receptor cells
this stimulates sodium ion chanells to open - repid influx of sodium ions
creating a new action potential.
