~some bacteria have an allele for antibiotic resistance and take longer to be killed
~antibiotics kill those without allele
~the resistant bacteria reproduce passing on this allele causing antibiotics to be no longer effective

why is every dose / tablet need to be taken to kill bacteria?

even when you feel better a resistant bacteria may be left which will reproduce causing the antibiotic to be ineffective later on
