Minimise exposure to radiation and only take essential radiographs.

How should a pregnant patient be positioned in the dental chair?
In a semi-reclined position.
Why should pregnant patients be put in a semi-reclined position?
To avoid compression of the inferior vena cava if they are lied back.
What would happen if compression of the inferior vena cava occurred?
Reduced blood flow and potential hypotension/dizziness.
