-holidays

-Non project hours (meetings/ development)
-Weekly/ bi-weekly scrum activity

Team:
-Total available hours for the sprint
-Total Team Capacity for the sprint (in hours)

A

-Unhealthy: capacity should be about how much they can REALISTICALLY complete without being burnt out
-Doesn’t account for things like impromptu meetings, potty breaks, etc.

-One source recommends 80%

Example:

10 day sprint x 28 hours x .80 utilization rate= 224 hours capacity

How do Scrum Events factor into capacity planning?

A

Planning, Review/ demo, retros, and standup should all be accounted for in capacity planning for accurate allocation that factors in the team’s whole day/ week

A
