A structural theory is a limited choice in your behaviour because you’re socialised.
What does post modernism believe about society?
That it’s rapidly changing and full of risk and uncertainty. They don’t believe in the value consensus anymore
What does post modernism believe instead of a value consensus?
That social structures are breaking down and being replaced.
What does post modernism contain?
Chaos, riddling society of stereotypes meaning there’s too many choices. (Uncertainty)
What does post modernism want a change in?
Social relationships as they are open to diversity of relationships to express themselves
What does post modernism say about the family?
That nuclear families are in decline as primary socialisation isn’t as strong in some ways
What are some things post modernism believes about society?
There is freedom to form our own identities
