Lesson 10: Resultant forces Flashcards
1
Q
What is a “resultant force?”
A
- The single, overall force replacing a number of forces acting on an object.
- This single force has the same effect as all the origignal forces acting together.
2
Q
What can a single, resultant force be resolved/ broken down into?
A
- Single resultant force can be resolved into two components, acting at right angles to each other.
3
Q
What is the diagram that shows diagonal resultant forces (either from components to single force or from single forces to components?)
A
- Scale vector diagram.
