What are formal regions and its other names?

A

-uniform, homogenous
-A geographical area that is linked by common traits like language or religion or economic prosperity or some geographic feature.
-tend to have pretty clear boundaries.
-Often used to study and organize geographical phenomena and understand patterns

A

Political regions, statistical regions, climate regions, vegetation regions, etc.

A

-nodal
-Organized not on shared traits but on a shared function.
-There will be a central location, a node, which that shared activity is carried out in.
-At times these regions will not have clear borders.
