Large Intestine Dry (deficient condition)
Usually in combo with St Yin Xu
Characterised by a state of dryness and deficiency of body fluids
Foul breath caused by retention of food caused by constipation
Collapse of Large Intestine (deficient condition)
Symps are due to chronic deficiency of Sp, St and LI with SP Qi Sinking
Sp Qi sinking causes prolapse of anus, and chronic Diarrhoea.
Poor appetite, cold limbs, desire for warm liquids, are caused by deficiency of Sp Yang.
Desire to lie down after passing a stool and desire for abdo massage is due to deficiency pattern
Damp Heat in large Intestine (full pattern)
All symps due to either damp or heat.
Damp interferes with LI function of absorbing liquids and excreting stools hence diarrhoea.
Mucus in stools indicative of damp and blood of heat which make blood extravasate.
Fould smelling stools, burning anus, dark scanty urine thirst and fever all indicative of heat
Feeling of fullness due to damp
Symps may vary depending on whether damp or heat is most prevalent.
Heat in the Large Intestine (excess condition)
All symps due to full heat and dryness
Dryness due to heat drying all the fluids.
LI closely related to St within the Yang ming and so heat in St causes dry mouth throat and tongue
Heat in lower jiao makes for dark scanty urine
Cold Invading Large Intestine (excess condition)
All symps due to exterior full cold
