weakness: ambiguous figure was used in the test - do not always come across this - trick people into making errors - occasions where we may come across this like misreading the grammar when it comes into signs - little about everyday perception

weakness - independent groups design - differences between the participants - different in one group and different in the other group in important ways - maybe more who’s name began with the letter B - more likely to perceive the ambigous figure as the letter B - participant variable may affect the conclusions of the study
