A

The Union of Unions prepared for a general strike to occur in October.
The aim was to bring Russia to a standstill and force the Tsar to agree to their demands.
Zemstva and Dumas plus ordinary people sent in petitions to the government demanding more power.
The petitions showed how politicised people were becoming.
