  1. By building a damn on a river. Called hydroelectric power, the water from the damned up river goes over turbines very forcefully causing them to turn. This produces electricity that is then sent along power lines to homes & businesses.

The boll weevil. A statue in Enterprise, AL stands in the middle of town that honors the boll weevil.
It is the only known statue in the world that honors an insect.

A

Grew gardens & ate less meat to provide their own food, so more food could go to soldiers. Factories at home made ammunition, weapons, uniforms & other things soldiers needed. Women knitted scarves, & other things to send to soldiers.
