What was the ‘British Pathe’?
A
Before 1960s, people got their news from a company called British pathe. But sometimes had government propaganda so would be biased, and some of the language is vey outdated as its from the 1950s, therefore some would be considered racist

Why did migrants get asked to come to the uk after WW2?
A
They needed more people to work in the country as a lot of the population died during the war or couldn’t work any more due to injury

Why do Jamaican migrants call the uk the “mother land”?
A
They owned Jamaica once, part of the British empire

Why were Jamaican migrants scared in the 1950s in the uk?
A
Because they were getting attacked and even killed. Some people reacted against the migrants and joined racist groups
