How will an Order of Protection from Family Court or Supreme Court be served?
DO
1. Accept the order and have a copy of the order faxed to Sheriff’s Office during their normal business hours:
Mon-Thur: 0300x2300
Fri: 0500x2300
All other times, the department will attempt to serve orders.
2. Assign a UMOS to attempt service
If UMOS unable to serve, he will return order to DO, who will reassign the service on each consecutive tour to another UMOS or send to Sheriff’s Office when it reopens.
Note: Service of orders will be attempted at least once each tour until order is served or the order is forwarded to the NYC Sheriff.
When an Order of Protection is forwarded to the NYC Sheriff, the Desk Officer will make an entry in what log?
Order of Protection Log.
Who establishes Police Lines during a Fire?
UMOS will establish Police Lines beyond the fire apparatus and fire hydrants being used.

Unauthorized display of:
A. Badge, and person claims to be public servant-
Arrest for Criminal Impersonation and Seize badge as evidence.
B. Plate, sign, insignia of PD or FD displayed on vehicle-
Summons, 396 VTL and Seize article as evidence.
C. Official police cards, e.g.press,special vehicle ID-
Confiscate, ask how obtained and deliver to DO
D. Forged Police Card-
Arrest, AC 14-107 and Seize card as evidence.
How will a cop verify a pistol license?
Call License Division during 0900x1700 Mon-Fri or use ALPS.
Note- IF Lic Division closed and ALPS not available, Desk Officer on duty at 0900 the next Business Day will make verification and entry.

Who will umos deliver the Rifle/Shotgun Surrender Notice to once completed?

Note: Prepare a Comp Report if-
1) Permit holder refuses/fails to surrender firearm after surrender notice has been served and officer believes holder is violating AC by possession.
2) Officer believes permit holder is purposely avoiding service of Surrender.
When will a UMOS arrive at a polling place during a Primary, General or Special Election?
At least 15 minutes prior to opening of polls.
- Inspect voting machines and complete Election Poll Report.
- Make entry in EPR and notify DO if polls not open on schedule.
What are the duties of a UMOS while election polls are open?
- Notify DO and make entry in Election Poll Report when:
A. An election Inspector is unfit for duty
B. Voting interrupted for any reason
C. Problems encountered or unusual incidents within vicinity of polls
Note: Refer person alleging to be registered voter to Supreme Court of county (Richmond, Kings…) if Election Board personnel refuse to grant right to vote.
Who will a umos notify when the nature of a substance is unknown or cannot be determined? (HazMat) Procedure

c. Do not release control of Crime Scene without proper
authorization from ranking umos.

2. FDNY has been requested for life safety ops/mass decon
3. FDNY is responding or present at incident.
e. Request PDS
f. Designate UMOS to deliver package samples to DOHMH
What are the proper steps to follow when a Radiation Pager detection alarm is triggered?
