a process of achieving organizational objectives by using limited resources an organization has

- senior: makes long terms plans and is responsible fro business outcomes
- middle: sets department goals and manages teams within them
- supervisory junior: handles daily tasks

the ability to influence others on achieving a common goal or vision

- autocratic: strict and rigid
- Paternalistic : caring, parent like
- democratic: involves staff in decision making
- lassi fair: gives staff freedom, do it your own
- fielders theory: leadership styles changes depending on situations

ADV: quick decision making
- full control
- clear direction + staff roles
DISADV: high labor turnover
- no room for creativity or innovation
- demotivated staff (unvalued opinions)

ADV: motivates employees
