  • Plan and implement what need to be done to be more effective.
  • use strategies, tactics and compositional ideals in a range of competitive situations.
  • Adapt and plan ideals in response to what is happening around them.
  • recognise hazards and what could be done to minimise risks to themselves and others.

Practical examples:

  • taking on the role of an official in PE lessons increases experience and improves decision making skills.
  • taking on the role of a leader in rugby in PE lessons, puts you in different roles that make you have to make different decisions than your used to. Improving decision making.

A

Consists off:

Developing skills:

  • students should be able to refine and adapt skills into techniques.
  • develop the range of skills they can use.
  • Develop control, precision and fluency of skills.

Practical example:

  • Practising hitting in PE lessons in cricket and tennis, will improve effectiveness of hand eye co-ordination for a number of sports such as rounders and badminton.
  • Practising throwing and running in PE lessons can develop these techniques in a number of sports such as rugby and tennis.

What does evaluating and improving consist of? Give practical examples.

A

Consists of Looking at:

  • The Range of skills
  • the range and effectiveness of tactics, strategies and compositional ideals.
  • the range of effectiveness of body and mind to respond to challenges.

Practical example:
- When trying a new technique like a serve in tennis, you need to evaluate and make adjustments to perfect it.

  • make choices to how their going to get Involved in healthy activities

Practical examples:
- learning about diet and lifestyle choices such as drinking & smoking allows students to make informed choice as adults.
- discovering a life long love for a sport through PE experiences
, can lead to a healthy active lifestyle in the future.

What does Devolving physical and mental capacity consist of? Give practical examples.

A

Consists of:

  • devolving physical strength, stamina, speed and flexibility to cope with the demands of different situations.
  • Developing mental determination to succeed.

Practical examples:
Completing a marathon requires mental capacity and determination to continue. This can be developed during cross country in PE.
- taking part in trampoline requires strength, stamina and flexibility. This aspects of fitness can improve/increase with training.
