Imaging Flashcards
cauliflower tufted glomeruli, IgG, IgM, C3
tram-track EM
membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis
MPGN
IgA in mesangium, IgA and C3 in mesangium (EM), enlarged glomerulli
IgA (Berger’s) Nephropathy
“flea bitten,” PMNs, EM: humps, no spikes
post-infectious GN
thick GBM, spike+dome on silver stain
foot effacement, transport vesicles
diffuse membranous GN
wire loop thickening
“full house” staining
diffuse proliferative GN
lupus nephritis
big bloody kidney, focal or diffuse segemented cresents
in some forms pauci-immune
RPGN
rapidly progressive GN
eosinophils, inflamation, +/- granulomas
AIN
AIN + TBM IgG and complement deposits
Sjorgens
schistocytes, RBC thrombi in glomerulus, intimal thickening
HUS
greenblack debris, out pouching, blunt calyces
papillary necrosis
like HUS, with onionskin layers of endo and trapped RBCs
TTP
like HUS, more changes, intracapillary thrombi, recanalization
Anti-Phospholipase Antibody Syndrome
shrunk kidneys, thin cortex, arteriolar sclerosis and hylinosis
hypertensive nephrosclerosis
normal on gross, cysts if advanced, microcystic tube dilation, interstital fibrosis, TBM defects
NPHP
dilated ureter and renal pelvis, compression of medulla and cortex
hydronephrosis
