German invasion of the Soviet Union (1941)

A

Hitler decided to invade the Soviet Union to gain more land and resources. Germany was gaining large amounts of land until fall and winter stopped the German outside of Moscow, the capital of the USSR. Now Germany had to fight on another front.

Battle of Britain

A

A series of battles between German and British air forces over Britain in 1940-1941. Germany wanted to invade Britain, but needed to destroy its air force first. Germany failed to do this and was not invaded. Britain was isolated on its island and needed help.
