- 1496-8 Further trade war after Philip imposes new import duty on cloth
- 1504 Death of Isabella: ends anti French alliance of England/ Spain/ Burgundy
- 1508 fails to create anti- Ferdinand alliance with France and Burgundy; frozen out of League of Cambrai (Spain/ France -anti Venice) but diverted attention, probably fortunate
- Border raids continue; James expands navy; Scotland maintains Auld Alliance, but situation stabilised
